Since our launch in Germany in autumn 2024, we have been working with a growing number of innovative law firms. One of them is Böhm Mathes Vent Fischer Rechtsanwälte (BMVF), based in Erfurt, a firm specialised in construction and IT law. With a small team of only six legal professionals, they are creating a big impact and were quick to recognise the potential of AI and integrate it into their legal practice.

The challenge: Time-consuming research and outdated tools

BMVF advises clients from the construction and real estate sectors, as well as in IT and inheritance law. For their work, they rely on a variety of platforms. However, particularly in the area of IT law, they soon reached the limits of what those tools could offer.

"The information is often incomplete or outdated. In IT law, which is constantly evolving, we need up-to-date sources and the right search strategy is crucial,"

explains Justus Böhm, one of the firm's lawyers.

Although the team had already experimented with generative AI such as ChatGPT, the actual added value for legal research remained limited. The effort required to formulate precise questions was high, and access to reliable, legally sound sources was lacking.

It became clear to the firm that they needed a tool that could speed up and structure legal research, based on trustworthy legal content. The same tool should also support recurring tasks, such as the creation of newsletters or seminar materials.

The solution: Pandektes as legal AI at law firm level

Since spring 2025, BMVF has been using the Pandektes platform across the entire firm. This clearly demonstrates the level of trust they place in the tool. The focus is on combining efficient legal research with structured knowledge work. In addition to the AI-powered legal assistant, the team primarily uses Workspaces to organise recurring tasks. Three main areas are in focus:

Research and structured case law summaries

A dedicated Workspace is used to systematically prepare new court decisions. The AI supports both the structured search and the drafting of clearly formulated summaries, including the facts of the case and the court’s reasoning. This allows relevant content to be documented efficiently and reused for internal analysis or external presentations.

Seminar preparation

BMVF regularly conducts legal seminars in the field of private construction law. In a dedicated Workspace, presentations, speaker notes and handouts are collected, updated and optimised. Pandektes helps to structure content, review it legally and prepare it in a clear and comprehensible way.

Newsletter creation

Pandektes is also used for editorial work, such as drafting client newsletters. The platform makes text creation easier, ensures a consistent tone of voice and saves valuable time in the firm’s day-to-day operations.

Onboarding: Personalised, practical and collaborative

In addition to the standard platform onboarding, BMVF received a customised Workspace training, during which real use cases were implemented in close cooperation with the Pandektes team. Pandektes also provided a detailed guide for optimal use, including prompt phrasing and best practices for legal summaries.

"What particularly impressed us was the simple and client-friendly process of setting up firm-wide access to Pandektes. What also stood out was the easy handling and the high-quality research results." — Justus Böhm, BMVF Rechtsanwälte

The impact: Less effort, greater results

Initial feedback shows that the team has been working significantly more efficiently since introducing Pandektes, benefiting from the structured and reusable formatting.

"Researching even uncommon legal questions, which used to take one to two hours, now takes well under an hour without any loss of quality. This allows us to handle more client matters in less time." — Justus Böhm, BMVF Rechtsanwälte

Conclusion: Digitalisation as a strategic decision

With its firm-wide use of Pandektes, BMVF positions itself as a digital pioneer among small and mid-sized law firms. The focus is not on technology for its own sake, but on delivering tangible value in day-to-day legal work: faster, more structured, and up to date.

We look forward to seeing how Böhm Mathes Vent Fischer will continue to use Pandektes in the future.

"I am impressed to see how our clients in Germany, especially firms like BMVF, are actively integrating not only our efficient AI Assistant but also our Workspaces into their daily practice. This shows that the value goes far beyond research alone and creates real impact in the legal workflow." — Casper Laursen, Founder and CEO of Pandektes
